Today’s question asks, “I’ve been wondering about something: The other day you told us a dream that you had a number of years ago, where you woke up and immediately knew that this was a dream about you, about your intensity and the need to feel satisfied. This doesn’t puzzle me in one sense – I’ve had dreams where I wake up knowing I’m being addressed, where I know I’m being told something. But it does surprise me a little – because it is my understanding that you believe we should not take the dream as being about us. Can you comment on this?”

“Participating in your dream group has been “an object of wonder”– a true miracle in my life. Dream tending allows me to see the world and experience life not just in black and white but to consider the beauty and grandeur of all the grey tones in between.”

Icon’s of the Dreaming Heart and its author, Renee Coleman, Ph.D. came into my life shortly after my 70th birthday. Learning how to relate to the images and numerous visitors of my nightly dreams in community with Renee’s growing tribe of dream tending humans has served to initiate me into the rigorous and enchanting life of becoming an Elder. There is no finer guide to the wisdom of learning “olding” !!! My gratitude to Renee and to Goldenstone Press and its co-founders, Robert Sardello a… Read more

Understanding dreams from a Soul/Spirit perspective has been incredibly enlightening. Typically we look at dreams as simply a reflection of what took place in our waking life. There are often characteristics of that which weave into our dreams. But learning the greater message; what Soul/Spirit wants us to see and understand has been quite simply an amazing journey.

Dream Tending with a group is such a deeply personal experience, and at the same time a magically shared one, where the dreams themselves, the dream group, and Dr. Coleman act as guides.

Monthly dream sessions with Renée Coleman have been an essential part of my life for almost two years now. As a mythologist who tends dreams, Renée came to my attention, coincidentally it seemed, when, at middle-age, I entered university for the first time. At that time I was experiencing a prolific number of vivid dreams, all of which I could remember in enough detail that I recorded them in a journal, as I continue to do. Working my dreams, and those of others in the group, all… Read more

My weekly telephone sessions with Dr. Coleman have become the means whereby I restore emotional and spiritual balance in my life. Her vast knowledge and accrued wisdom have been invaluable in guiding me through the labyrinth of the dream world. Through my ongoing work with her, I have come to appreciate the power within myself to live a larger life. I have been an educator for thirty years and while Dr. Coleman is my therapist, I hasten to call her the finest “teacher” I have ever encount… Read more

Renee,
Gosh, it’s good to see and hear you (and I rarely use the term ‘gosh’). I won’t say I completed followed the discussion, but your passion for the material is obvious. I envy that. What could be more fulfilling than bringing clarity to those whose vision is obscured?
Keep up the good work.
Richard
Thank you, Richard! And oh, it would so lovely to see you. I wish there was an easy way to figure out how to do questions on video. That’s a problem for the technically proficient . . . a group, alas, that I do not count myself among. Still, though it’s perhaps dubious and more than a bit puffed-up of me to imagine that I’m bringing clarity to the visually-obscurred when it comes to the dreamtime . . . it is good work and I do love it.
